Course Description:

This webinar series provides nurse educators with information, resources, and strategies that will assist in the development of interprofessional education (IPE) experiences for students. Participants will explore selected literature on the definitions and parameters of IPE. Participants will examine personal and institutional challenges, opportunities and supports for developing initiatives, courses, and programs that include meaningful IPE experiences utilizing existing resources.

This course is offered via live webinar, but participants have the option to watch the webinars online afterwards. Participation in live webinars is not a requirement for this course.

Course Audience:

Educators in non-research intensive academic environments.

Course Objectives / Themes:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Describe the common definitions and parameters of interprofessional education (IPE).
Identify evidence-based resources on designing, implementing, and evaluating IPE initiatives.
Discuss the resources, challenges, opportunities and supports for developing meaningful interprofessional experiences for students.
Identify resources to assist with integrating these experiences into your courses and to those at an institutional level.
Garner new ideas as you interact with those who have developed interprofessional education experiences in a variety of settings, and with a variety of different partners.
Plan strategies to meet the challenges, to act on the opportunities and to enable the supports in your environment.
Develop a plan to address the development of competencies related to IPE.
